Memorial Day

Remembering the men and women who passed serving the USA is a great reason to celebrate them by being with friends and family. But Memorial Day also marks the start of the summer when the beaches official open and folks head to the Hamptons. The city is such a quiet place during this weekend that stay behind is one of my favorite things to do. We've been hit by crazy storms lately so planning a picnic of sorts was a  challenging feat. Nevertheless, the weather was terrific and Prospect park damn sure delivered a fantastic day. Great company, food and drinks but best of all endless laughter!!

Thank a solider. Happy Memorial Day!!

p.s. I know that I'm quite expressive with all my many face but damn... hilarious!!

Neon Lace

shirt: Zara | pants: American Apparel | shoes: F-Troupe | bag: Vintage | sunnies: The Row

I mean could the weather be any nicer this weekend!!?
Because my husband is a super biker it was a no brainer to stop by the Brooklyn Bike Jumble on such beautiful day. I'm not a rider but can definitely appreciate all that goes into riding in this crazy crowded city. This event had tons of vintage bikes that I made sure to look through while the guys shopped.
I wore a neon yellow lace shirt (the perfect choice for such a warm day), high waist riding pants and F-Troupe shoes. In hindsight, denim cutoffs would have gone great with this shirt and the temperature.

shirt: J.Crew | skirt: American Apparel | bag: Coach (similar here) | sunnies: The Row

When I reached for my Coach duffle bag it almost immediately dawned on me how much I love this bag.
At this point I guess it can be called a classic piece since Coach went to the direction of logo bags and then back again. I remember falling instantly in love with this bag back in 2000. The color was unbelievable beautiful to me... its color is called Doe and has an amazing marbled, aged quality about it. I tend to gravitate toward pieces that already have vintage appeal. If you know Coach then you know that they are experts of all things leather.... and their craftsmanship is second to none. Twelve years later and my bag still looks brand new despite the abuse it's seen though out the years. Now that's getting your moneys worth!

Black on Black

t-shirt: American Apparel | pants: Madewell | sweater: Cardigan sneakers: Vans | bag: Zara
sunnies: Ray-Ban

What's better than a pair of classic Vans?! ...nothing! These Vans are the perfect remedy to ease tried achy feet. I've been working out like a crazy person lately that my legs and feet needed a break. I love sneakers that are simple in design and can be wore with any outfit without distraction. What's your favorite classic sneaker? Converse and Superga's are definitely on my list too. Happy Friday!

Grey Day

tank: Uniqlo | jeans: Joe | sweater: Madewell | sneakers: Isabel Marant | blazer: J.Crew | bag: Gucci

I love this color combo! And on gloomy grey day the bright touch of yellow was a easy choose.
My current obsession is distressed jeans. I love these Joe jeans from ages ago that have gotten so soft over the years. I'm actually thinking about a DIY project of making them a little more distress with sand paper.
Zara has a great pair of perfectly distressed jeans that may only need a few tweaks but are a dead ringer for these Acne beauties.
